What is the Sustained Excellence Award?

The Sustained Excellence Award is a highly coveted award. It is the highest honor given by the EPA to organizations that have demonstrated innovation and commitment to protecting the environment through energy efficiency along with superior leadership.

Nissan’s role as an ENERGY STAR® partner

This is Nissan’s 12th Partner of the Year recognition and 10th consecutive year achieving the Sustained Excellence Award. Nissan accomplished an energy reduction of 21% across the U.S. manufacturing footprint. Since 2006, the company has saved nearly 8 trillion BTUs of the energy required to manufacture and assemble vehicles. With its commitment to bettering communities, Nissan has used its expertise to help schools in Tennessee and Central Mississippi to save energy as well.

More about Nissan’s commitment to sustainability

Nissan has been working toward its commitment to carbon neutrality across all its global operations and life cycle of its products by 2050. The company plans on doing this by creating decades-long programs to help reduce emissions and provide more electric vehicle technologies. Many of these commitments have expanded on the previous Nissan Green Program.
