The Maxima’s history

In its beginning, the Maxima had not built its reputation of being a premium level of luxury with performance. It was known as the “4-Door Sports Car.” Going all the way to 1981, the Datsun 810 was the first to sport the Maxima name. It would feature the 240Z engine and a five-speed manual transmissionIts second-generation spanned from 1985 until 1988, which was the first sedan to offer a V6 engine and front-wheel drive. Each generation after would continue to upgrade its performance. By 1995, the body was larger and was chosen as Motor Trend’s Import Car of the Year.

What to expect from the Anniversary Edition

The Maxima Anniversary Edition will have limited supply. This trim level will include features like red semi-aniline leather-appointed seating with 40th Anniversary embossing and black exterior finishes and trim badges, including a 40th Anniversary badge. Other features will include a white speedometer and tachometer faces that are reminiscent of past Maxima models, exclusive 19-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels and heated rear seats.
