We’ve been having unseasonably warm weather in Glendale IL, which means we have every reason to be excited for the upcoming holiday. With a bit of the luck of the Irish, we could be having unseasonably warm weather, which means it won’t feel quite so bad when we’re outside enjoying the 2017 St Patrick’s Day parades and other area events.

62nd Annual Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day ParadeIrish music

It’s a bit of a drive from our Glendale Heights location, but the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Chicago is always worthy of consideration. This year’s theme is “Irish Immigration: A New World of Opportunity.” This year the parade will be held at noon on Saturday, March 11. IN addition to an enormous lineup of floats and marchers, the traditional river dyeing will also be happening once again.

Elmhurt St. Patrick’s Day

Taking place on March 4, this one is coming up quick. It’s the second largest parade in the Chicago area, with more than 80 floats, traditional Irish dancers, the Chicago Highlanders and more. This one once again starts at noon, and afterward you can enjoy a festival with live music, traditional Irish food and more.

St. Patrick’s Day at Irish American Heritage Center

After the Chicago Parade, you can head on over to the IAHC for an enormous festival. Who better to host the event? This event keeps things traditional, with more of a focus on culture and family than indulging in green beer.

Looking for something just a wee bit smaller? This parade will be held on Sunday, March 12 and will give you all the fun traditions of the holiday with a slightly smaller crowd. Enjoy the parade, run the 2017 Emerald Isle Mile and sign up for the golf outing in July.
