Nissan is dedicated to safety and bringing important technologies to its vehicles. To help parents and caregivers, Nissan has the Nissan Rear Door Alert in its vehicles to remind drivers to check the back seats. Keep reading to see which Nissan vehicles offer this feature.
More information on the Nissan Rear Door Alert (RDA)
The system monitors when a rear door has been opened and closed before and after the vehicle is in motion. Once the vehicle has been parked, if a rear door that was used before a trip but hasn’t been opened after a trip, the system will remind the driver. The vehicle will create a distinctive chirp of the horn to alert the driver to look in the back.
The future of the RDA
By 2022, all Nissan four-door trucks, sedans and SUVs will offer the RDA technology. The commitment will extend to 2025 for essentially all cars and trucks to offer the RDA feature to help parents and caregivers to remember to check the back seat before leaving the vehicle.
