With the 2018 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Nissan vehicles were able to top three different vehicle segments, as well as finished in the top three in two other categories. In fact, the Nissan brand as a whole improved to just having eight problems per 100 vehicles, which was the best performance as a non-luxury Japanese brand.

Topping their segments were the Altima, Frontier and Maxima. The 2018 Frontier named to the top of the midsize pickup segment for the third year in a row. For sedans such as the Altima and Maxima, these models won the midsize car and large car segments respectively.
The 2018 Nissan LEAF also earned some praise from J.D. Power, as the new 100-percent electric model had a whopping 17-point improvement in initial vehicle quality from last year’s model.
