2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid is “Green SUV of the Year” Finalist

This year was the first time that Nissan ever offered a hybrid version of the Nissan Rogue, and it’s safe to say that it has been quite a success. In fact, the new Nissan Rogue Hybrid has been named a finalist by Green Car Journal magazine for “2017 Green SUV of the Year award.” The winner of this award won’t be announced until next year at the Washington Auto Show on January 26th, 2017.

Although the Nissan Rogue is the second best-selling vehicle within the brand, the Hybrid version is new to the family and not yet as popular or available at this time; nonetheless, the accomplishment of the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid as a “Green SUV of the Year” finalist is worth discussing! How does Nissan Rogue compare to the Mazda CX-5?

The advantages to owning a compact crossover SUV continue to grow as each model becomes more impressive every new model year. The 2016 Nissan Rogue vs Mazda CX-5  are two competitors fairly similar in size serve well as family vehicles but also are prime choices for those looking to step up to something larger than a sedan or hatchback.

We’d like to talk a little more about how the Nissan Rogue compares to the Mazda CX-5. As smaller-sized sport utility vehicles, both do an excellent job of creating plenty of space for front and backseat passengers. The 2016 Nissan Rogue is available in three trim levels, two of which can be equipped with a third row of seating, bringing the total number of passengers to seven. The Mazda CX-5 chooses to remain a five-seater. It also doesn’t provide quite as much space as the Rogue is able to, coming up short at 64.8 cu-ft while the 2016 Rogue creates a maximum of 70.0 cu-ft. (more…)
