Which 2021 model is better: Leaf or Kona?

Right off the bat, this is gasoline versus electric. The Kona does have an electric option, but the Leaf is an electric vehicle from the ground up. From this point, you may break either way, but we can assure you that electric vehicles are only going to become more prevalent as time goes on.

When you compare the specs of these two drivetrains the horsepower is actually exactly the same even though these two drivetrains couldn’t be more different. The big difference comes down to torque, and what’s more interesting is not only does the Leaf have more torque, but an electric motor can supply all of that torque even at a dead stop. A gas engine can only deliver that much torque at specific RPM levels.

Lastly, the Leaf provides more cargo room and also gives you satellite radio standard. In the end, the Leaf is just a more ideal vehicle, and it has a bit of the future on its side as well.
