2018 Nissan Pathfinder updates and changes

Every automaker wants to provide something fresh to the market year-after-year, but what to do when a model only just received a complete redesign? Some brands will simply allow a model to roll over, unchanged. Nissan doesn’t quite take this approach with its 2018 Nissan Pathfinder. It’s true the updates and changes aren’t dramatic, but a few additional features and available packages provide more options for the model year.

Midnight Edition and Rear Door Alert

We recently announced that Nissan had created its Rear Door Alert feature, and the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder will be the first model to offer it. The 2018 Nissan Pathfinder rear endfeature is standard, but can easily be turned off through the system settings. This feature is viewed as a potential safety system, as it could help busy parents remember their infants on hectic days. Another safety system that will be standard? Automatic emergency braking.

Like many of the models in the Nissan lineup, the 2018 Pathfinder offers a Midnight Edition appearance package, but the option will be available on the SL trim. Features for this include black 20-inch Midnight Edition wheels, black mirror caps, black spoiler, black roof rails, black grille surround, black front and rear fascia accents, black license plate finisher, black badging, black splash guards, illuminated kick plates and exterior approach lighting. The package can be paired with Pearl White, Gun Metallic and Magnetic Black.

These make up the major changes for the 2018 Nissan Pathfinder, but there are a few minor ones too. New color options include Scarlet Ember and Midnight Pine, while some features that were standard on the Platinum grade (Intelligent Cruise Control and NissanConnect with Navigation and Services) are now standard on the SL grade too.
