As favorites varied all across the country, the most popular candy in Illinois is the Kit Kat Bar. In fact, throughout the time of the study, 169,089 lbs of Kit Kats were purchased in Illinois between the 11-year span.

When it comes to other Midwestern states, Butterfingers, Starburst and Hot Tamales were some of the most popular in Wisconsin, while Jolly Ranchers, Starburst and Hot Tomales were the favorites in Illinois. The top three candies in America are Skittles, M&M’s and Snickers respectively, followed then by Reese’s Cups, Starburst, Candy Corn, Hot Tamales, Hersey’s candy, Tootsie Pops and Jolly Ranchers.
