How Powerful is the 2019 Nissan Kicks?
For the 2018 model year, Nissan threw a curveball and replaced the unique Juke SUV model with the new Kicks. Becoming the most affordable SUV in the manufacturer’s lineup, as well as the brand’s fastest-selling model, the Kicks made an immediate and lasting impression. While the compact crossover is more so known for its efficiency and technology than its power, we’re sure you’re still wondering how powerful the 2019 Nissan Kicks is. Well, let’s take a look!
Recently announced for its second season, the 2019 Nissan Kicks is now available at Glendale Nissan and Nissan dealerships nationwide. The Kicks is also available in three different trim levels, including the S, SV and SR. The standard S model has a starting MSRP of just $18,540*.
Nissan Kicks Power and Performance
While each trim level is unique and has its own exclusive features, each model comes equipped standard with the same 1.6-liter, DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with a Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS). Leading up to its release, this engine has been rated to output 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque. The engine is also paired with the efficiency Xtronic transmission.

This engine rating is slightly less powerful than the 2018 model. The 2018 Nissan Kicks also came with a 1.6-liter, DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, but is able to generate 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque.
