How Does the Nissan Rear Door Alert Notify Drivers?

Nissan drivers know just how advanced their vehicles feel compared to others. In fact, with each new vehicle that comes out, drivers can often find new features and enhancements to make their favorite models even better. Recently, Nissan has added even more technologies to its lineup such as the Rear Door Alert. But, just how does the Nissan Rear Door Alert notify drivers?

What is the Nissan Rear Door Alert?

The Rear Door Alert system works by monitoring when a rear door is opened and closed before and after a vehicle is moving. If a rear door was used before driving but was not opened again after being parked, the system will remind the driver to check their back seat by displaying a message on the center instrument panel, as well as honking multiple times to remind people to check their back seat after the vehicle is parked.

This is important because it can be easy to forget about young children or pets in the backseat. Even in temperatures of 60 degrees, the interior of a car can heat up to dangerous temperatures quickly, so the Rear Door Alert was made to reduce this risk. The Rear Door Alert is also easy to turn off temporarily, or permanently if the alert is unnecessary for your trip.
