For the new model year, the 2020 Nissan GT-R will be available in three distinct trim levels, including the standard GT-R Premium, along with the upgraded GT-R Track Edition and GT-R NISMO models. While these models each come with the same engine, there are differently tuned aspects of them to offer improved performance.

The engine found in the 2020 GT-R Premium is a 3.8-liter, VR38DETT, V6 twin-turbocharged DOHC engine, meaning the new 2020 GT-R is a beast out on the roads. With this engine equipped in the standard Premium model, it offers an impressive 565 horsepower and 467 lb-ft of torque.

When this same engine is equipped with the GT-R Track Edition and GT-R NISMO editions, it offers even stronger performance. In fact, these use newly redesigned turbochargers seen in the GT3 series GT-R race car to offer a 20 percent increase in acceleration reaction time, which helps propel these models to 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque.

These engines are so unique and impressive that they were even handcrafted by its own takumi technician. The engine is also paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, as well as the revamped R mode, which helps offer more aggressive downshifts which help to better anticipate cornering exits.
