With the 2020 model year just beyond the horizon, Nissan fans are getting more and more excited to see what kind of adjustments and improvements are being made to their favorite vehicles. In fact, new versions of popular models like the Altima are just about here! That’s why we wanted to take a look at some of the differences between the 2020 Nissan Altima vs the 2019 Nissan Altima.

For the new 2020 Altima, drivers will be happy to hear that there won’t be much of a price difference between model years, as the upcoming model is just $100 more for the standard trim. Also, whereas the two models offer the same efficiency, the new 2020 Altima also offers a bit more power than the previous year’s model. This is thanks to an advanced 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine rated at 188 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, which offers 6 more standard horsepower than the 2019 model. In fact, this new engine features 80 percent new or redesigned parts from the previous generation 2.5-liter engine design.

For 2020, Nissan made many of the technologies found in the Altima more readily accessible by expanding the availability of Nissan Safety Shield 360 across the entire lineup. This means that Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard for the Altima SR model and beyond. Nissan Safety Shield 360 is still available with the standard S model, however, as it is offered with the new Driver Assist Package. Other models such as the Platinum trim also receives a mirror memory function, while Piano Black interior finishers are also offered with the SV, SL and Premium grades.
