What is the Nissan Around View Monitor?

Nissan has a lot of amazing technology for new vehicles, and that technology is continuously improving. NissanConnect and driver assistance features are both more widely found in different models when just a few years ago this technology was incredibly new and sparingly applied. Even the rearview camera, now found on even lower trim levels of many Nissan models, was a brand-new piece of technology not all that long ago. Here at Glendale Nissan, we often get asked about the new high-tech features available on new vehicles. One of these features is the Around View Monitor, which is a very new piece of technology that has been growing in popularity. So, what is the Nissan Around View Monitor, exactly?

The Nissan Around View Monitor is a whole new way to keep track of your surroundings when you are parking. The feature uses 4 wide angle cameras on the exterior of the vehicle and then makes a composite of all 4 pieces of footage. This means you get a full 360-degree view of your surroundings rather than just the one view you get from a rearview camera.

The Around View Monitor will come in handy any time you’re parking. The touchscreen will show the monitor’s composite footage and even shows a split-screen of the 360-degree view and single view. With this feature, you have a better idea of your surroundings than ever before and you can have a lot more confidence when parking.

The Around View Monitor is available on select trims of new Nissan vehicles like the 2016 Maxima, 2016 Rogue, and even the 2016 Versa Note. If you’d like to know more about the Around View Monitor, you can contact our staff here at Glendale Nissan or reach out to a local Nissan dealer in your area.
