It’s no surprise that Nissan is responsible for creating the best-selling electric vehicle. The Nissan LEAF has been dominating the electric vehicle market since its release. It was one of the first electric vehicles to be mass produced in the US and its popularity is still on the rise. It currently holds an almost 50 percent share of the entire electric vehicle market. LEAF sales in the United States alone have exceeded 100,000 units.
Nissan receives 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year
Nissan has been continuously committed to making environmentally conscious decisions in the manufacturing of its vehicles. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded Nissan with a 2017 Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award for its efforts. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Nissan has won the award. Some of Nissan’s individual manufacturing plants are also being recognized. The plants in Smyrna, TN and Canton, MS have received the ENERGY STAR Certification for the eleventh consecutive year. The Energy Star Partner of the Year award is the EPA’s highest award level. It is reserved for only those companies showing significant advancements in their energy management practices.
