There are plenty of great ways to bask in the warmth of Spring, but one of our favorites is definitely going to local car shows! No matter which part of the Chicago area you may live in, there are definitely some events near you worth exploring this season. That’s why we’ve collected this list of May 2017 car shows near Glendale Heights, IL.

Engineering Hackathon: Build a Race Car!
When: Friday, May 5, 2017, 5:30-8pm
Where: Polsky Exchange – Promontory Point Meeting Room
Have you ever wanted to build a race car? Well, here is your chance to show off your engineering skills! With 90 minutes on the clock, you will be challenged with the task of building a functional race car out of common supplies, familiar tools and all of your pent-up creativity. The cars that do the best in a series of tests will be awarded prizes at the end of event. Be sure to get there by 5:30 for the free dinner, explanation of all the rules, etc.
Armed Forces Day Car Show
When: Sat, May 20, 2017, 12-4pm
Where: West Aurora Plaza
When we think of springtime in America, we tend to think of holidays like Easter and Memorial Day. Well, about a week before Memorial Day, the Aurora Vets Week Committee is hosting its Armed Forces Day Car Show, and we encourage you to support our vets. Tickets are $15, but their service to our nation was invaluable.
29th Annual Valpo-Fest Motorcycle-Car Show & Swap Meet
When: Sunday, May 28, 2017, 9am-3pm
Where: Porter Co. Expo Center
The biggest show on our list also the one farthest away. The 29th Annual Valpo-Fest Motorcycle-Car Show & Swap Meet is located at the Porter Co. Expo Center in Valparaiso, IN on May 28th. Yes, it’s a bit of a hike, but it made our list for multiple reasons. With $3,000 in prizes, a massive food fest, live music, a beer garden and so much more, this is definitely an event that you will want to experience for yourself.
